New Life for Old Dams: Rehabilitation
Many dams around the world were built with technology from 40-50 years ago. These structures, nearing the end of their economic lifespan, can pose risks, particularly due to fatigue in mechanical equipment. However, instead of demolishing and rebuilding an entire dam, "mechanical modernization" is a much more sustainable solution. In our rehabilitation projects, we inspect existing systems on-site and manage the renovation process starting from the most critical points. By mechanically repairing rusted radial gates, integrating aging control panels into current automation systems, and replacing sealing elements, we extend the dams' lifespan by another 30 years. Our top priority in this process is to complete the transformation with minimal disruption to the facility's operations.
